🔢BlockCarbon Roadmap

Our Roadmap consists of 4 distinct pillars that stand for initiatives that need to come together. Working hand in hand, these areas of enagagement will create momentum and a meaningful bid for the Cardano ecosystem to become the “go-to” platform for carbon DeFi. The four pillars are our standard, our tokens, a baseline and community action .

By standard we mean open global carbon accounting & reporting. Step by step, we will roll out case studies and pilots where blockchain can be a game changer to turn a failing mitigation project into a succeeding one.

The BlockCarbon Foundation defines criteria for accredation and registry that are strict, long-term, non-profit, innovative, ensure biodiversity is protected and local communities are consulted.

Token issuance will be based on the most simple wrapped and converted offsets first (see -> 15.), and then expand to a unique, Cardano-exclusive high quality investment token.

Creating a baseline is so important, as only knowledge of current carbon usage and carbon footprint can lead to action. Awareness and Measurement of everyone’s own and Cardano’s carbon footprint is essential to establish offset amounts and define plans that go beyond buying and selling tokens as mere souvenirs, charitable donations or speculative assets.

Without knowing the intricacies of carbon profiles and footprints, action may be misguided or ineffective. Education of users and the community about carbon science will be very important in our mission.

In the long run, we strive for community action that could be organized like a traditional charity and gradually develop governance and shared resources as a DAO, dealing in offsetting, charitable removal, treasury investment / portfolio alignment and financial transformation.

BlockCarbon Foundation intends to become an integral part of the non-profit fight against climate change. We do Tech with passion, but bringing individual users and companies into the new carbon market and learn to use Cardano is as important.
